NHL Defenceman Scandella and Olympic wrestler Moore to participate in Royal Vale Terry Fox Run

Montreal, September 30, 2024- Veteran NHL defenceman Marco Scandella and Canadian Olympic wrestler Alex Moore will participate in the annual Terry Fox Run at Royal Vale School  (5851 Somerled) on Tuesday, October 1 (10:20 am).

Scandella, who just announced his retirement after a 14 year career, was a student at Royal Vale High School. Moore attended nearby Willingdon Elementary School, as did Scandella.  As a result, Willingdon students will also on be on hand to meet these two heroes.

The six-foot-three, 212 pound Scandella played for the Minnesota Wild, Buffalo Sabres, Montreal Canadiens and St. Louis Blues.  In 784 games he scored 51 goals and tallied 119 assists for 170 points.

Alex Moore
Moore made his Olympic debut when he hits the mat in the men’s 86kg freestyle event at Paris 2024. He secured his spot after finishing in the top two at the Pan American Olympic Qualifier in March 2024. That was despite breaking his hand just seven weeks before the competition.
