Samara O'Gorman's Leading With Your Heart 2.0 Tour now accepting school bookings

 As the Inspirations Newspaper  Ambassador for Compassionate Leadership , Samara O’Gorman toured many English Montreal School Board elementary schools and met with hundreds of students last year. In this capacitu she shared her message of leading with your heart. Samara is back again this year, offering her new presentation: “Leading With Your Heart 2.0,”  as well as her one-hour poetry workshop, “Poetry’s Return to the Classroom.”  Samara O'Gorman has a true magic touch with students.  "Leading With Your Heart 2.0" is a 20-minute assembly-style presentation tailored for elementary school students by Samara . The presentation addresses crucial topics such as anti-bullying, self-love, the importance of empathy, with a focus this year on finding and maintaining a healthy friendship and the importance of having a support network or individual. NHL Defenceman Scandella and Olympic wrestler Moore to participate in Royal Vale Terry Fox Run

Montreal, September 30, 2024- Veteran NHL defenceman Marco Scandella and Canadian Olympic wrestler Alex Moore will participate in the annual Terry Fox Run at Royal Vale School  (5851 Somerled) on Tuesday, October 1 (10:20 am). Marco Scandella Scandella, who just announced his retirement after a 14 year career, was a student at Royal Vale High School. Moore attended nearby Willingdon Elementary School, as did Scandella.  As a result, Willingdon students will also on be on hand to meet these two heroes. The six-foot-three, 212 pound Scandella played for the Minnesota Wild, Buffalo Sabres, Montreal Canadiens and St. Louis Blues.  In 784 games he scored 51 goals and tallied 119 assists for 170 points. Alex Moore Moore made his Olympic debut when he hits the mat in the men’s 86kg freestyle event at Paris 2024. Assistant Director of Educational Services Athina Galanogeorgos to retire

Athina Galanogeorgos, Assistant Director of Educational Services, has announced she will retire. Her last day of work will be Nov. 21. The Association Québécoises des Cadres scolaires wishes to extend best wishes. Athina’s journey began when she and her parents emigrated from Greece while she was still a toddler. She quickly adapted to her new environment, learning English by watching television and becoming the family's interpreter at a young age. Her parents instilled in her a strong work ethic and a love for learning and education. They frequently read with her and filled their home with books she still treasures to this day. She has fond memories of attending Barclay Elementary School, where she was inspired by caring teachers who nurtured her love for learning. She went on to graduate from Malcolm Campbell High School and pursued her passion for languages and cultures at Vanier College, becoming fluent in both Italian and German. Commemorating The Past: EMSB animators and schools embark on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation project at head office

Montreal, September 20, 2024 - In recognition of Truth and Reconciliation, Personal Development and Community Involvement Animators Vince Lacroce, Mary Poullas, Veronica D'Agata, Ibrahim Abou Arab, and Nesbitt Elementary School Arts Specialist Matthew Balanca-Rodrigues have created a beautiful initiative to honour the legacy of the children impacted by residential schools. Staff and students showcase their excellent work. Laurier Macdonald Career Centre’s hairdressing students to welcome peers from Nantes, France

Montreal, September 17, 2024  – An ocean could not keep two premiere hairdressing programs apart, as on Thursday,  September 26, students and staff from the Lycée professionnel Pierre Masson program based in Nantes, France, will be visiting Laurier Macdonald Vocational Training and Career Centre (5025 Jean Talon E.) in St. Léonard to kick off an international collaboration. Michelangelo International Elementary School to unveil magnificent new mural by grad Whatisadam

Montreal, September 17, 2024 – When students returned to Michelangelo International Elementary School (6108 8 th Avenue) in Rivière des Prairies after their summer vacation, they were stunned to see the façade of their school had been transformed. Over the course of the summer, renowned local artist   Whatisadam (Adam Vieira) painted a multi-part mural that encompasses one entire side of the building, highlighting the spirit and values which Michelangelo International Elementary School unique. He is also a graduate of Michelangelo. With Adam on hand, the mural will officially be unveiled this Thursday, September 19 (10 am). Joining him will be students, who will showcase the values and characteristics permanently portrayed on the side of their school.
