Royal West Academy students shine at Expo-sciences Hydro-Québec, Montreal Regional Science & Technology Fair
Royal West Science Fair winners.
Montreal, April 8, 2025 – On March 23 to 25, over 160 high school and college-level exhibitors took part in the Expo-sciences Hydro-Québec, Montreal Regional Science & Technology Fair at Pierrefonds Community High School.
Representing the English Montreal School Board was Royal West Academy, guided by Science teachers Jessica Fogel and Adam Wiltzer. The school sent nine projects to the event and won several awards.
The results were as follows:
Honorable Mention : Emmanuelle Etienne-Krief
Distinction Certificates: Nara Norouzi and Jade Rapp
Great Distinction Certificates: Clara Attalah and Bella Flanz; Seokhyun Kwon and Sumin Woo; Qianyu Wang and Anna Maria Romanishyna ; Dylan Miao and Daniel Peretz; Shah Sparsh Nishit and Charles Chaki
Highest Distinction Certificates: Alexa Cipriani and Jake Gurevitch; and Sae Ah Park and Sophie Iny
The prestige awards, which includes bursaries were as follows:
Order of Chemists of Quebec Award - Project 19: Qianyu Wang and Anna Maria Romanishyna
Marianopolis College Science Award: Seokhyun Kwon and Sumin Woo
John Abbott College Science Award: Sophie Iny and Sae Ah Park
McGill University Awards
Electrical and Computer Engineering: Alexa Cipriani and Jake Gurevitch
Faculty of Science Biology Award : Qianyu Wang and Anna Maria Romanishyna
Faculty of Chemistry Award: Seokhyun Kwon and Sumin Woo
Faculty of Science Award :Clara Attalah and Bella Flanz
Concordia Awards
Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science Electrical Engineering Award: Shah Sparsh Nishit and Charles Chaki
Finally, Sophie Iny and Sae Ah Park placed in the top 15 projects overall, and were selected to go to the Quebec Provincial Fair. Also, Cassidy and Lauren Engo won a number of CEGEP level awards, and the top overall project at the college level.
